Task 1: Family information
You have been asked to add some information to the family resource library at the Education and Care service where you work at. Source, either in print or by identifying suitable websites, the following:
i. current Australian immunisation schedules for children 0-5 years
ii. the immunisation requirements to be eligible for child care benefit and rebates.
iii. recommendations for adult immunisation for staff and families.
Identify one of the main community languages of your area and provide the information for one of these points above in your chosen community language.
The service has been offered the use of a local community minibus to use on a regular basis for excursions. Your supervisor has requested that you organise some practical training for all staff on how to move and fit car seats, restraints and booster seats.
iv. Provide a suggestion for a training organisation in your local area who can be contacted to provide for this training to occur. Please note you do not have to organise this training, you only need to demonstrate that you would be capable of organising it if required.
Research information about community services and resources to support families in your area.
v. Provide three (3) pieces of information clearly referenced.
vi. Outline how you would make this information available to families and assist them to locate, contact and/or access community services and resources as required.
vii. Describe the processes you would put in place to maintain current contact details of community services and resources in your area.
It is best to collate this information in an electronic format for sustainability reasons. The information does not need to be extensive. Relevant URLs or links to suitable websites are appropriate with a short (2 line) description of how you sourced them.
The following is an example of how you may layout your information for this Task

Task 2: Excursion and planning suggestions
Now you that you have gained an understanding of your local community you will plan a suitable excursion, where the children will have an opportunity to connect with nature. The excursion will be planned for a group of 10 children aged 4-5 years. Please note you WILL NOT be undertaking this excursion, you are only planning for it.
1. Write and submit a letter to the parents to gain their permission to take their child on the excursion. Provide details of why the children are going and what they will do and how they will be supervised. Ensure the letter complies with the Education and Care National Regulations.
2. Complete a risk assessment for the excursion, including implications for supervision. Use the format provided with this assessment, located at the end of this section. You also will need to outline how you will ensure that the group has ready access to a phone or similar means of communication during the excursion.
3. Suggest four (4) experiences that would follow on from the excursion and provide children with opportunity to:
a. Exchange thoughts and ideas about sustainable practice through intentional teaching, learning experiences and projects
b. Develop life skills, such as growing and preparing food, waste reduction and recycling
c. Discuss their natural environment and the interdependence between people, plants, animals and the land
d. Increase their understanding of animals and the natural environment
You do not need to write these suggestions in full. You may provide a summary of your suggested experiences as shown below. Please note you are not able to submit the example provided as your own experience.
