Social Media Use in the Hiring Process
An ethic of non-discrimination must permeate the hiring process.
Develop a social media protocol and training materials (a PowerPoint that can give an overview to the company managment) for Company X to use in the hiring process. Be sure to examine the state law of the state in which you reside to determine whether statutes have been enacted to guide employers in the use of social media. Provide citations for statutes identified.
Based upon your findings, draft a social media policy for your company. Prepare training materials that you will use to present to company management on the new policy.
The social media policy should be at least 500 words in length and in a separate word document from the PowerPoint.
The PowerPoint training should be 3-5 slides and include citations to at least two (2) legal authorities that support the policy you drafted.
