Papers should be no less than 2, no more than 3 double-spaced, size 12 font pages with 1-inch margins. They should demonstrate critical thinking and clear effective writing on a topic of your choosing (*Topic: The United States intentionally defaces and dehumanizes African Americans, particularly males, for financial and political gain*). They should not consist of a summary of the arguments of the texts, but a critical engagement with the texts in service of your own conclusions on the subject. When grading these papers, Is there evidence of critical engagement with the texts? Have you made specific claims about the readings? Have you used specific examples and quotes from the readings to support your claim(s)? Have you addressed at least two of the readings in your paper? And The Wire? Does your paper adhere to the specified length? Does your paper have minimal grammatical and/or structural problems?
