ESSAY QUESTION IS: Race is an exceedingly slippery concept….While it is a dynamic phenomena rooted in political struggle, it is commonly observed as a fixed characteristic of human populations; while it does not exist in terms of human biology, people routinely look to the human body for evidence about racial identity; while it is a biological fiction, it is nonetheless a social fact.1 (James, 2008) To do so will require you to engage with and apply at least one key concept/weekly topic we have considered in CST371. How do we know race as a social fact? Reflect upon how the case study challenges and/or reconfirms race/racialised thinking/practices.
